History

Synergy Group was founded in 2006 and is headquartered in Singapore.The company operates in fields such as technical and commercial management, crew management, new ship building, maritime training, insurance, information technology, and ship recycling. Currently, Synergy Group employs over 14,000 members of staff and seafarers across its offices worldwide.
In April 2021, the company reported in a press release that it received an IMA award for its contribution to Singapore’s development as an international maritime hub.
In June 2021, the company partnered with Philippine Transmarine Carriers Inc to bring the seafarer community together as one under WeTeam.

Ships managed

As of 2022, Synergy Marine Group manages 522 vessels. The fleet under its management includes LNG & LPG tankers, chemical tankers, oil tankers (VLCC, Suezmax, Aframax, LR2, LR1, MR tankers), and PCTC (Pure Car Truck Carrier) container vessels in the 1,800 TEU-20,000+ TEU range, and every size of bulk carriers. A joint venture with D/S Norden manages Norden's fleet of ships.

Mergers and acquisitions

In 2021, the company acquired Maersk Tankers technical management business.

Training

Japanese transport conglomerate Mitsui O.S.K. Lines (MOL) has partnered with the Synergy Group to set up a marine advanced simulation training facility (called MAST) in Chennai, India. MOL Synergy India (MAST) trains seafarers with full mission simulators for ship maneuvering, engine room and liquid cargo simulators for oil, chemical, LPG and LNG, and ECDIS- both generic and type specific.
