Is deck side better or engine side?

Is deck side better or engine side?

To actually speak ,both the streams are completely different and hence it would be very wrong to compare one from the  other.

For deck side the entry level is 10+2 where as for Engine side it is minimum of a Engineering degree. Hence Engineers are usually little senior by age when they 1st set foot on the ship.

Engineers however have a degree in hand when they join he 1st ship and deck cadets do not have that. They can however get the degree with 2nd mates (if they join the DNS course)

Having said the above ,both the streams are equally great and challenging.

In the long run ,when the time comes to shift ashore, we have to admit that there is a shade bit more opportunities for engineers than deck officers if they have done mechanical engineering before they join the ship.

The answer is very confusing as there is no clear one answer for this question. Only suggestion i can make here is that, please try to get a decent degree some time in your life to be valued more.
